Since 1947, Ferrari has been “the” sports car. Beforehand, Enzo Ferrari was creating the famous Scuderia Ferrari racing team. It had never occurred to him to make road cars; however, when exposed tot he racing industry, he wandered onto that path.
When Ferrari’s enigmatic founders passed away, there was initial concern due to similar companies failing once their founders had died. Tensions rose but despite worries, Ferrari survived. In 2016, Ferrari split away from its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Today, Ferrari still hails from Maranello in Italy and there are only 180 authorised dealers worldwide. Some would argue that this only adds to the allure of the Ferrari brand.

The original Ferrari logo of the ‘prancing horse’ pays homage to the italian flying ace of WWI. WWII prolonged the launch of the first Ferrari and the first model was only made twice. Ferraris brand identity comes from its classic, bold red colour; however, this wasn’t the first choice. The International Automobile Federation assigned the colour to all Italian Grand Prix race cars initially for auto racing and Ferrari has certainly gained from this, even though it may not have been its choice. It’s easy to see why Ferrari is known to be one of the premium brands of car still to this day and a cult favourite.
